hands.

Our hand are the first extension of ourselves. When we meet someone for the first time, our palms touch and our eyes meet.
When I was growing up I loved my dad's hands. He would work at a seminary teacher in the day, and then at night he would work as a hobby auto mechanic. However greasy and black his hands got at night, he would scrub them clean ...and in the morning he would have no sign of working on cars.
I love to look at other people's hands, old or young. The lines... they tell a story.
When I was dating I could tell if I would like the guy just by how his hands look. Even now...when I find a nice pair of hands I have a hard time ...ahem...not staring.
I envy piano hands. I love dramatic talking hands. I ache for loving hands. I use my helping hands. I miss the hands of friends that are long gone. I reach for my husbands hand.
I lay my hand next to my sisters...intertwined with my Grandma's aged fingers on her last day in her own home...and that night I softly hold my Emma's young hand...and watch her sleep

What a great picture...I would have never thought to take a picture like that, but it's way cool. The words to go with it make it that much better!

I am also a huge fan of hands. Lucky for me, Justin has SUCH nice hands. I remember telling him he should be a hand model when we were dating. It must be a family trait because all the girls have such nice hands and nails. I liked that I could pick out each person without looking at rings. I am lacking in the hand department...if you were to just look at them you would think I was 50. I really appreciate a nice sturdy hand shake (who really gives a wet fish shake?!), a strong hand helping me walk on ice, or fat little hands that want to pull me around or want me to help. I don't think people think enough about the significant of hands...like that song. Good post.

Aim,
I have been waiting for you to post this picture. I love how it turned out. It is so beautiful. I also like to look at hands and see the differences we all have. I have always felt my hands were so manly and big, but in this picture they don't seem so--how nice!
Hands say so much--without even having to use a word. :) We can hold a hand of a loved one and it is lasting. Love this, Aim!
