breathe.

Sometimes right before I go to bed...usually at midnight...I go upstairs to watch my kids breathe. ...just for a min. Eyes closed, soft sighs, and pure content. Tonight I am trying to remember what happened to the almost 3,300 days that I have had Hayden in my life. He tells me each day how much he loves me, and he means it. He begged me tonight to tell him about when he was a baby. I told him that I carried him everywhere with me, even when I was doing laundry. He gave me pure and utter joy like I had never felt before. Tonight he sleeps in his room and dreams of great things. Emma sleeps too..and surrounds herself with two dozen stuffed animals. She sleeps peaceful and so lovely. I look at her perfect face and blond strands of hair and I feel lucky to my toes and back.

What a sweet post. I too love to watch my kids sleeping. They are so perfect and it makes you feel warm from your head to toes and thankful to be blessed with such sweet and wonderful gifts from God. They are truly perfect little angels.

Aim,
Just the other night I decided to go watch my kids sleep. I don't think I've ever done that before (I guess I'm always just glad for some peace and quiet at the end of the day that I don't think about it). Anyhow, it was really amazing to me. As I watched my kids sleep I talked to them--in my mind. It was so peaceful and really a neat experience. The next morning it made me so glad to see them up and moving, with life in their soles again--because as they lay sleeping they looked so still, and almost lifeless. So, I really liked this post. It resonated with me. Hayden is such a sweet boy to tell you he loves you so often. You are really, really blessed to have the kids you do.

Aims, I do the very same thing every single night. It's to make sure they are still actually breathing, but also to remind me how much I love them and am so grateful they are mine. Moments like this help to wash away all the other frustrating moments of the day. Haydude and Ems are really such special little people. We are given children to love and take care of, but I think that they are sent to do just the same for us.

I have to clear something up...When I wrote in my comment that I have never watched my kids sleep before, I meant I have not ever just stood there watching them and talking to them in my mind like I did. I always go check on my kids too and make sure all is well, but to really stand by them and feel the peace--I haven't done that. :)
